This is the second piece in which I'm working with colored pencil on wood. The photo just above shows my beginning. I decided to try starting the darker areas with a watercolor underpainting so I drew in areas with Inktense watercolor pencils. My pastel "Tuscan Vista" has been accepted into Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club 115th Annual Exhibition at the National Arts Club in New York City. I recently shipped these two accepted pieces "Pebbles and Reeds" and "Polka Dot Bowl" off to the Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club's annual members exhibit at the Salmagundi Club in NYC. Then I received an email a few days ago saying that I had won first prize in the Graphics and Mixed Media category in the exhibit. I am very excited but not sure which piece won! I am trying to decide which one

Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Exhibit & Awards Dinner
Here are Debbi Friedman and I at the National Arts Club in NYC at the CLWAC dinner with my piece "Samantha". Debbi received the Art Times Award for her colored pencil piece "Lapis Light". We had an enjoyable evening, great food, and met some talented artists from all over the US. Now its back home to start creating again. I'm working on another portrait that I will post soon!

I just found out that "Samantha" has been accepted into Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club's 114th Annual Exhibition at the National Arts Club in October. I'm very excited because this is the largest colored pencil portrait I've attempted. This is my third acceptance to CLWAC so I'm requesting full membership to the organization.
