Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Award

I recently shipped these two accepted pieces "Pebbles and Reeds" and "Polka Dot Bowl" off to the Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club's annual members exhibit at the Salmagundi Club in NYC. Then I received an email a few days ago saying that I had won first prize in the Graphics and Mixed Media category in the exhibit. I am very excited but not sure which piece won! I am trying to decide which one

In a previous blog entry, I noted that two of my colored pencil works had been accepted into the Special President's Exhibition; Photography and Graphics, which is a juried member exhibit. And I was even more excited when I received a call from the Salmagundi Club telling me that I had won The President's Award, First Award for this piece, Cherries on China. Tuscan Vista

I entered my pastel into South County Art Association's All Media Open Juried Exhibit II (No. Kingston, RI) and won an honorable mention. That excites me, its my first pastel to receive an award. The exhibit runs from Oct 28 - Nov 13 and the opening reception is Thurs, Oct 28, 7-9 p.m.

Artist's Magazine 27th Annual Art Competition

My piece "Patti's New Bowl" has been selected as a finalist in the Still Life/Floral category of The Artist's Magazine 27th Annual Art Competition. Just my name will be featured in the December 2010 issue of the magazine so here is the piece. I'm really excited to have been chosen!

Colored Pencil: one of my cherry series

This is my first post to this blog. I'm learning as I go. I've uploaded this image called "Cherries on China". It won second prize at a recent gallery exhibit at Gallery 297 in Bristol, RI, titled "Seeing Red". "Cherries on China" done on rag illustration board with colored pencil. I used solvent to dissolve the colored pencil on the dark areas of the plate, the background and on the cherries
